Valerie Cucinotta Collado
Valerie Cucinotta Collado is currently serving as President of the VWR Foundation. She also serves as the Director of Corporate Communication for VWR. In this position Valerie is responsible for the Corporate and North American communications programs which includes newsletters, the Intranet, associate recognition and public relations.
Before joining VWR, Valerie worked for Borders Group Inc. as the District Marketing Manager where she developed and implemented annual marketing and public relations plans as well as author and musician event coordination for 11 Greater Philadelphia locations. Prior to working for Borders Group Inc., she served as the Director of Public Relations and Events for the Terri Lynne Lokoff Child Care Foundation.
Valerie holds a bachelor of music degree with a minor in communications from Catholic University of America. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Emergency Aid of Pennsylvania.
Vey Garofalo is currently serving as a Board Member for the VWR Foundation. Vey also serves as Vice President of Sales for the Education & Medical Research/Healthcare segment at VWR. Vey has been with VWR for eight years serving in numerous roles including Region Director and Production Chemical Specialist.
Prior to joining VWR, Vey served as Territory Manager for various global chemical companies. She has also served as Director of Business Development and co-owner of an Atlanta-based business.
Vey holds a Bachelor of Science in International Business from Florida State University.
Jill Golden is currently serving as Board Member and Secretary for the VWR Foundation. She previously served as part of the Logistics Committee supporting the day to day operations of the VWR Foundation. She also serves as the Corporate Communications Specialist for VWR. Jill joined VWR in 2009 as the Executive Assistant for the Human Resources organization.
Prior to joining VWR, Jill worked at Environmental Standards, Inc., an Environmental Consulting Firm in Valley Forge, PA.
Jill holds a Bachelor of Arts in Telecommunications with a minor in Sociology from Pennsylvania State University.
Deborah Beck Kauffman
Deborah Beck Kauffman is currently serving as a Board Member for the VWR Foundation and an active member of the Logistics Committee. She also serves as the Director of Internal Audit for VWR International, LLC with global responsibilities to assess risk and monitor both financial and SOX controls.
Prior to serving as the Director of Internal Audit, Deborah was the Financial Director for the Asia Pacific Region based in Shanghai. She has also worked as a Corporate Director of FP&A and the US Director of FP&A. Prior to VWR, Deborah worked in the pharmaceutical and retail security industries for a number of years.
Deborah holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Elizabethtown College and a MBA from Drexel University.
Matt Lope is currently serving as a Board Member for the VWR Foundation. Matt also serves as the Vice President of Sales for the PBI segment, at VWR, currently residing in Phoenix.
Matt joined VWR in 2005 as a Sales Representative in Atlanta, Georgia. Since 2005, Matt has held numerous positions, including Regional Sales Manager in New York City, where he was recognized as the Region Manager of the Year and 2010 VWR President's Club recipient.
Matt holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration in Marketing from John Carroll University. While attending John Carroll, he was a four year varsity athlete on the men's football team.
Kathy Pankanin is currently serving as a Vice President for the VWR Foundation and as an advisor to the External Program Committee. She also serves as Area Vice President, Sales, for VWR International, LLC. At VWR, Kathy is responsible for the Lab and Production and Education and Medical Research business for the states of Oregon, Washington, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Alaska and Hawaii. Additional Sales responsivilities include all higher education customers in the state of California, both Public and Private.
Kathy began her career with VWR in 1982, starting as a sales representative with American Scientific Products based in Chicago. Since that time she has held numerous positions within VWR to include marketing, region management and Vice President since 1998.
Kathy holds a bachelor of science degree in Molecular Biology from the University of Colorado in Boulder. She attended the graduate program at Seattle University, where she pursued an MBA.
Kathy lives with her husband, Jim, and their four sons in Bellevue, Washington.
Currently serving as Board Member for the VWR Foundation, Noël is also the Global Marketing Operations Manager for VWR, responsible for customer relationship management systems contact strategy, global project management processes and systems, and marketing governance of processes and prioritization. Noel has worked for VWR for over 10 years, with previous roles including Marketing Program Management, Marketing Communications, and Internal/Community Relations, focused previously on the Science Education segment supported by VWR Corporate Brands - Ward's Science, Sargent Welch, and Boreal Science.
During Noël's time with VWR's Science Education segment, she had the privilege of launching a formalized community outreach effort focused on establishing connections between local schools and VWR's science education laboratory technicians. The objective was to foster students' pursuit of science via hands-on experiences with science labs and supplies that the schools may not have had the resources to fund. She continues to volunteer in Rochester City School District classrooms and leads a yearly support campaign.
Noël attended New York University's Gallatin School of Individualized Study for masters work in Marketing and Media Applications and holds a bachelors of science degree in Marketing from Pennsylvania State University.
George Van Kula
George Van Kula is currently serving as a Board Member for the VWR Foundation. He also serves as Senior Vice President, Human Resources and General Counsel as well as Corporate Secretary for VWR International, LLC.
George joined VWR from Honeywell International Inc., a diversified technology and manufacturing company where he served as Vice President and General Counsel, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), based out of Brussels, Belgium. George joined Honeywell in December 1996, and held several positions before becoming Vice President and General Counsel, EMEA in November 2001. He was responsible for the legal affairs of Honeywell's EMEA operations with over $7 billion in revenue and 27,000 employees. Prior to joining Honeywell, George spent the first eight years of his legal career with Latham & Watkins LLP in the Los Angeles and London offices, providing counsel to U.S. and foreign companies and investment banks in a variety of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance transactions and general corporate matters.
George received his law degree from the University of Michigan Law School and has a bachelor of arts degree from the University of Notre Dame.
